Traci Zeller and I have teamed up to design a room in the Traditional Home showhouse, opening in conjunction with High Point Market in April! (read more after the break!)
Traditional Home Magazine and the Junior League of Greensboro are sponsoring an extraordinary design event, the proceeds of which will benefit the Junior League’s mission and its partnership with Cone Elementary and other worthwhile causes for the Greensboro community. Adamsleigh — has been chosen as this years show house. High Point textile magnate John Hampton (“Hamp”) Adams and his wife Elizabeth from Adamsville, South Carolina commissioned Luther Lashmit, talented architect to design the house. Mr Adams was co-founder of Adams-Millis Corporation, the first company in High Point to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Mr. Lashmit designed the house in 1929, but the house wasn’t finished until 1931, you can read more about that here. Adamsleigh is known as “Greensboro’s Grandest House,” or more casually as “the mansion that socks built.”
We have been working on our design and are so excited about our “custom” features. Of course none of this could be possible if it weren’t for wonderful sponsors!!!
Traditional Home and the Junior League have coordinated the participation of many, many fabulous industry partners! — As Traci said, we will be sharing more about our sponsors as the work progresses but for today, we wanted to share about a couple of women we have found that are truly special, and very talented! Let us be first introduce you to Sarah & Ruby Design Studio. Sarah and Ruby are textile designers who specialize in bespoke textiles and wall coverings …
Close up of the wallpaper from above. Don’t you love the paperly look of this design?
Below are some of the cool patterns in their Chroma Collection.
Here are some “before” photos of our space? Take a good look now … because the “gentleman’s dressing area” is not going to look like that for long! We are going to make transform this area to its original glamourous state only with a modern twist!
