Hi, I’m Susi, a writer for Design Shuffle, a wonderful online community of designers and design lovers from around the world. I am excited to be guest blogging at Lisa Mende Design today. Lisa has so many great design ideas and inspirational photos on her blog. My guest post today is all about inspiring ideas for lighting for the foyer. Lisa asked that I include pics and ideas for those of us who don’t have tall ceilings in our foyers. Hope these lighting options will help you light up your foyer. Thank for letting me and Design Shuffle come visit. Enjoy!
Wall sconces in a foyer create pretty ambient light. The addition of table lamp on this dresser could provide more direct light.
In small foyer with lower ceilings, table lamps that cast light up can be a good idea. Adding a very tall mirror will make the space feel larger and reflect light from the lamps.
For any small space, place a lamp in front of a mirror to reflect the light and expand the space. Love the simple shape of this lamp paired with the lacquered chest.
A console with a single or a pair of small lamps makes for perfect lighting for the foyer. Vertical stripes make this foyer feel taller by drawing the eye up. This spacious foyer is filled |
Love the interesting architectural mirror flanked by wall lights in this charming foyer. Wall lights are a smart choice for a foyer where table and floor space is limited.
A beautiful chandelier is perfect for a foyer, no matter the ceiling height. It’s all about choosing a chandelier with the right proportion for the space. Make sure you have enough clearance to walk underneath it!
