On December 5th, the world said good bye to a great man. Nelson Mandela spent his 95 years on earth, working towards peace and equality for mankind both nationally and globally. While his vision and work were responsible for returning a nation to it’s people, his philosophy was one we all should adopt for creating our own lives.
“There is no passion to be found playing small in settling for a life that is less than
the one you are capable of living” – Nelson Mandela
We begin each day in our homes, so shouldn’t our authenticity begin there? When we have an authentic foundation, we are able to extend our sincere support and best selves to others. I applaud Nelson Mandela for being not only a great leader and visionary, but also a man with a desire to make life better for others. Each holiday season, when I think of peace on earth and goodwill toward all mankind, I will remember Nelson Mandela, the man who lived his life, doing just that.

Other favorite sayings by Nelson Mandela:
“If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart.”
“I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear”
“Does anybody really think that they didn’t get what they had because they didn’t have the talent or the strength or the endurance or the commitment?”
“There is nothing like returning to a place that remains unchanged to find the ways in which you yourself have altered.”
Why should anyone settle for a home
or life that isn’t authentic?
Are you living authentically?
