I am giving away Five Gifts
On Saturday, March 24, 2012 My birthday!!!
Everyday this week, I am revealing the “gift of the day” and give you opportunities to win! Scroll down for ways to enter. but first let’s talk rugs!
In my opinion nothing does more to add warmth to a room and pull the overall design together than a great rug. Depending on your style, budget and preferences you can choose for a rug to serve as a backdrop or the star of the show.
Handmade in Nepal, these rugs are truly worthy of being the “star of the room”.
Great ready to be wowed! These are not your Grandmother’s rugs….
Feast your eyes on these works of art!
Here are a few of my favorites…
These are rugs by Amy Hefland.
Amy’s hand-knotted rugs are made in Nepal and are perfect for residential or commercial use. Pot dyed, hand-carded and hand-spun these rugs are made of the highest quality Tibetan wools and Chinese silks. Talk about luxury for the feet! Average time it takes to receive a rug from Amy is three to six months. Starting at $125 sq ft. they aren’t cheap, but with a minimum of over 100 knots per inch will be around for several lifetimes. Amy is a member of Goodweave which is a an international non-governmental organization working to end child labor laws. Money paid by members goes to education and opportunities for former child weavers. Read more about Amy Hefland Rugs here and here.
How does an artist like Amy find inspiration to create such unique designs? She has a gift for bringing nature indoors with her organic rug designs.
Here is an example of her inspiration brought to design…
